The project started with the encouragement of Film maker David Brocca and Executive Producer Dorothy Darling. I had worked with both of them on David's documentary film “The Knox Mine Disaster”. I also worked as a sideman for Dorothy who is a singer and performer in her own right.
I had written some songs and wanted to record them but didn't have the resources to do so. Dorothy was kind enough to help me with the financing of the project. I recorded in Philadelphia, PA and in Portsmouth, NH. I used musicians from the Philadelphia area and from the Portsmouth area. I lived in southern Maine for 30 yrs and played music with my friend Jon Ross for most of that time. Jon was invaluable to the project as he can play so many different instruments.
Another invaluable participant was my Philly neighborhood musical partner, Mike Galan. In addition to playing clarinet, Mike helped by notating my music for the other musicians to read. It's been a musical journey and quite an adventure. Thanks to all who were involved in the making of the CD. A special thanks to my family and to all my friends and fans who have supported me all these many years. Love you all !!
Here is a little teaser from the upcoming album!
